Neodymium Ring Magnets
Strong Neodymium Ring Magnets N35,N36,N42,N45, 50 & N52 At CMS Magnetics & Magnets For Sale Neodymium Ring magnets come in many sizes. Ring Magnets Permanent Magnets Rare Earth Strong Neodymium Ring Magnets for Sale hobbies and industry no minimum 1st class customer help CMS is a BBB A rated business Ring magnets range in size from less than ¼ inch in diameter to well over 2 inches across. Our Strong Neodymium Ring Magnets have a special set of uses in the world of magnets. Ring magnets are specially suited to those magnetic repulsion experiments where you dangle 2 magnets from a string, but also Jewelry and in the medical field. One magician we know even wanted one that looks like a wedding ring. Hmmm, the methodology for the trick would be hiding in plain site.
Here at Magnets For Sale & CMS Magnetics we carry neodymium rings with epoxy coatings and with a countersunk hole already drilled in the middle to attach it to nonmetallic materials such as wood or plastic. These Ring magnets even allow the screw’s head to reside below or even with the face of the magnet to ensure it does not interfere with the magnets function.

The truth about magnets

Magnets For Sale & CMS Magnetics is rated A+ by the BBB. Our Customer Service people will help you over the phone if you have only a small idea what you need and gladly take your order right there over the phone. They do not work on commission, they really like to help people get it right and are some really nice people. Really! Or you can order on the website.
A larger magnet of the same material and grade (think strength) will be stronger.
In order of strength the strongest magnetic material first: Strongest Neodymium, Samarium Cobalt, Ceramic, AlNiCo.
Ceramic magnets are the household magnets or the ones you probably played with as a child.
If you have 2 magnets that are attracted to each other (stuck together) and you didn’t say “wow how am I ever going to get these separated?” They were not Neodymium. We can show you how to separate them.
The least strong grade of strong neodymium (N32) is much stronger than the strongest ceramic magnets.
Even Strong Neodymium magnets lose all of their magnetic strength at about 175o Fahrenheit.
Strong Neodymium magnets corrode in the weather. 6 months in the elements and it is a mess.
Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) is a little more expensive and a little less strong but is a great substitute in the above conditions (#6 & #7).
Do not let your children under about the age of 10 play with strong Neodymium magnets larger than 1 “ in diameter. They will get pinched. If they play with 2 magnets much larger than that they may get a finger broken. When I started working at CMS I almost got my finger broken by 2 21/2 “ magnets slamming together with my finger between them. Do not place these magnets into orifices of the body. Swallowing 2 small neodymium magnets will cause them to attract to each other along the digestive tract very possibly pinching inner linings and may puncture stomach or intestinal linings (NO JOKE HERE!)
Most small scale hobbies will do OK with Ceramic magnets however, a refrigerator magnet or tea towel with a small neodymium magnet in it will NOT slide down the refrigerator.
It is not advised that you make a kitchen knife Holder using a ceramic magnet, eventually someone will get hurt. Use Neodymium.
All magnets are somewhat brittle. Treat a 1/8th in thick neodymium Ring like fine china and it will last a lifetime. A neodymium Ring ½ inch thick is much stronger and the light hand is really not needed but it may still chip.
Some Safety Considerations with your Strong Neodymium Ring magnets
1 Children should not be allowed to handle Strong neodymium magnets. Small magnets are a choking hazard and should never be swallowed or inserted into any part of the body.
2 Individuals with pacemakers should not handle strong rare-earth magnets . Magnetic fields can affect the operation of these devices.
3 The Rare-Earth Magnetics Association is not aware of any positive or negative health effects from handling rare-earth magnets. CMS Magnetics & Magnets For Sale recommends however that pregnant women not handle very strong rare-earth magnets.
4 The strong magnetic fields of neodymium magnets can damage items such as television, computer monitors, credit cards, bank cards, computers, diskettes and other data carriers, video tapes, mechanical watches, & hearing aids.
5 When handling magnets Rare-Earth magnetic products are very powerful and can accelerate a great speeds toward each other and ferrous material. You should always wear gloves and eye protection when handling strong rare-earth magnets.
6 You should avoid having constant contact with magnets of any size and keep a distance of at least 3 feet to large strong magnets.
7 Under no circumstances should you try to machine Neodymium magnets! These rare earth magnets will crack, shatter and create a flammable toxic dust.
8 Strong Neodymium magnets will lose their magnetic properties if heated above (150 C).
9 All of magnets are plated with a thin layer of nickel, nickel-copper-nickel or gold. This layer (in particular gold) can wear down in the normal use of the magnet over time.
10 Any tool or toy, neodymium magnets can be fun and useful, but must always be treated with care.
