Neodymium Block Magnets › N52 | N55 High-Energy
Ultra-high-grade sintered NdFeB rectangular and square block magnets featuring maximum energy products of 52 MGOe and 55 MGOe. Engineered for applications requiring the absolute highest surface flux density ($B_r$) and maximum direct holding force per unit volume in tightly constrained physical spaces.
High-energy N52 and N55 block magnets represent the peak magnetic strength classification within our primary Neodymium Block Magnets line. Rated at Maximum Energy Products (BH)max of 52 MGOe and 55 MGOe respectively, these ultra-high grade rare earth blocks produce maximum remnant magnetization ( Br) and intense magnetic flux density across working air gaps without increasing physical enclosure volume.
While N52 and N55 are the strongest grades of neodymium commercially available, they require specific design consideration. These high-flux blocks are highly specialized for engineering applications where physical weight and size are strictly restricted, but magnetic holding power and field intensity are non-negotiable.
Because N52 and N55 blocks feature such intense magnetic flux concentration, they exhibit higher material brittleness than lower grades. To prevent oxidation and reinforce structural integrity, every N52/N55 block is protected with a standard Triple-Layer Nickel-Copper-Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) plating. Epoxy-coated variants are also available for high-moisture or outdoor marine environments.
Pro Handling Tip: When working with high-energy N52 squares and blocks, always use non-magnetic tools and keep a minimum of 24 inches of clearance from sensitive electronic devices, hard drives, pacemakers, and credit cards. Never allow N52 blocks to snap together freely; always slide them laterally off a stack and use non-magnetic plastic or wooden spacers during storage.
N52 and N55 represent the highest energy density grades available for permanent neodymium (NdFeB) magnets, offering significantly higher magnetic field strength and surface flux density Br than commercial N35 or N42 blocks of identical volume.
Neodymium magnets lose less than 1% of their strength over 100 years if kept below their rated maximum operating temperature 176°F (80°C) and protected from strong opposing demagnetizing fields.
No. Sintered NdFeB is brittle and will shatter if drilled. Machining destroys the protective Ni-Cu-Ni plating and produces hazardous, flammable dust. For screw fastening, select pre-drilled Countersunk Block Magnets.
