Product Description
N50 Neodymium Cylinder Magnet (1/4" Dia. x 1" Length)
Engineered from high-grade Sintered NdFeB alloy, this 1/4" diameter by 1" length N50 neodymium cylinder magnet delivers deep-reach magnetic penetration and exceptional holding power. Operating at an impressive 14,200 Gauss remanence, it provides high magnetic flux density, making it a popular choice for linear actuators, industrial sensors, reed switch triggers, and gold-panning sluice boxes for capturing fine black sands.
Need maximum possible holding power for space-constrained assemblies? Check out our N52 1/4" x 1" Neodymium Cylinder Magnet for maximum surface pull force.

Typical Applications & Uses
Cylinder and rod magnets feature a high length-to-diameter ratio that projects magnetic fields further into open-air gaps than flat disc magnets. Commonly utilized in reed switch triggers, science laboratory demonstrations, custom mechanical assemblies, and magnetic filtration systems.
Important Safety & Handling Guidelines
- Pinch Hazard & Impact: High-grade N50 magnets exert powerful attractive forces relative to their size. Exercise care when handling multiple units to prevent skin pinching or violent snapping that can cause chipping.
- Medical & Electronic Equipment: Maintain a safe distance from pacemakers, ICDs, credit cards, magnetic storage media, and sensitive electronic displays.
- Temperature Limitations: Standard NdFeB magnets operate effectively up to 176°F (80°C). Exceeding maximum operating temperatures will cause permanent loss of magnetic strength.
- Disposal & Storage: Keep out of reach of small children. If a magnet becomes cracked or chipped, dispose of all pieces completely as broken edges can be sharp.

Warranty
This magnet includes a 10-year warranty for its magnetic strength, provided it is used under normal conditions. Usage in environments with elevated temperatures, significant vibration, or intense opposing magnetic fields will render this warranty null and void. It is also not suitable for use outdoors or in areas with high humidity or salt content, unless additional protective insulation measures are implemented.Product Videos
