405 LB Power Fishing Magnets Magnetic Fishing Magnets
These are strong magnets for fishing These Neodymium fishing magnets are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. This fishing magnet are 2.95" in diameter X 0.71" Thick, encased in steel and have an ultra reinforced connection ring & stud.
What makes the best magnet for magnet fishing? This is how we see it at CMS: The best magnet fishing magnets for sale have a reinforced stud. Unless the area where the stud enters the fishing magnets casing is double reinforced, you may lose your fishing magnet just due to catastrophic mechanical failure. Any of the CMS family of fishing magnets are hands down the best fishing magnet to buy.
The best magnets for magnet fishing are in the medium weight range. The reasoning for this is the fishing magnets need to be strong in order to attach itself to the metal underneath all of the silt at the bottom of the lake. However, if it is too strong (more than about 500 lbs) and attaches to something large you may not be able to bring it in. The other part to this is that the parachute cord typically used for magnet fishing magnets is rated at 550 lbs. tensile strength.
Truly the best fishing magnet is in the 400-500 Lbs range (for practical reasons) & the fishing magnet has an ultra reinforced stud connector going into the steel casing of the fishing magnet.
Our neodymium fishing magnets for sale have a triple coating of nickel, copper and nickel again to prevent against corrosion. Our magnet fishing magnet is one tough hombre.
This strong magnet for fishing is encased with steel to both focus all of that magnetic force into a single direction instead of 360 degrees & to physically protect your fishing magnet. The eyebolt is provided for easy use but you screw it out and replace it with your own designs.
- The outer diameter of the fishing magnet is 2.95" (75mm). The thickness of the assembly is 0.71" (18mm)
- Super Powerful Magnet Fishing Magnets
- Protected by chromed steel casing Fishing magnets

Magnet Fishing Magnets, what goes in your magnet fishing kit & Magnet Fishing Technique
There is a not so new craze spreading through the country. It is magnet fishing. In its most basic form it is tying a rope onto a fishing magnet by way of some type of loop. Find yourself a suitable body of water Then tossing the fishing magnet into a body of water and pulling it back to yourself and hopefully attracted to a magnet a Civil War belt buckle.
CMS has a video that may be seen on Youtube in which wae actually co out and so some magnet fishing. It was a hot day indeed but we wanted to so how how it is done. We used several different magnets that day as well as a parachute type cord that ran at about 230 lbs tensile strength. We also did not “catch” a whole bunch (we did find a pretty cool gear thing).
but we had some fun doing it
There are some things that can be done to increase your chances of a “great catch”.
Look for a body of water that has been there for awhile. It stands to reason that if given more time to fill up with the “good” stuff so you may find it later.
Some bodies of water that have been recently created may have a bunch of trees that have not fallen apart yet and these may cause you to lose you fishing magnet. If you can see into the water so much the better
Select a site that has some traffic near it. Find a waterway that is not way out where you are going to have to walk for 10 miles to get to.
Find an area close to a bridge that does have some vehicle traffic on it. People throw all kinds of metallic items off of bridges over the years. Maybe solve a murder by finding “the murder weapon”.
Find a place with some historical significance. Maybe a battleground or a large pond behind a homestead that was settled in 1840.
$40,000 Magnet Fishing Trophy
Magnet fishing may not be just a chance to commune with nature and chance on a relic from the past. There from time to time is a is a specific purpose behind it. Two gentleman came huffing and puffing into our office one day and told us that they had accidentally dropped a drill bit down a hole being drilled for petroleum extraction. They looked more than a little nervous and with good reason. They told us their supervisor did know know about it yet and that the part ran somewhere around $40K. They did buy a jhjhro in fact they purchased 2 of them just in case they lost one of them.
A few hours later they came back and told us that they had indeed retrieved the item and they even had told their supervisor about it. They said it was much easier telling him about it after they had the bit back. Best $30 bucks they ever spent. Oh, they did not use the second fishing magnet and we cheerfully refunded their money for the unused magnet.
Magnet Fishing Magnets are actually cup magnets
Fishing magnets used for magnet fishing are what is called in the industry as cup magnets or
Round base magnets. These are magnets encased in a steel cup which has the effect of focusing the power of the magnet, instead of radiating in all 4 directions to a single direction. Definately a plus in your magnet fishing kit.
Then they may either have a male or female thread on them and in the case of CMS they are heavily reinforced to take either male or female threaded hook to tie the rope off to. Most people order the magnets with a closed loop instead of the open hook just to be sure it comes back.
Which magnet should you choose for your fishing trip? There are a couple of common sense things that you may want to think about.
About Neodymium Magnets The Alloy That Makes These Possible!
Neodymium rare earth fishing magnets are actually 10x stronger than the strongest ceramic magnets! Unlike most other types of fishing magnets, Neodymium is highly resistant to demagnetization and will not lose their magnetization around other magnets or if dropped. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of neodymium iron boron magnetic material. About Rare Earth Neodymium fishing magnet are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. All Neodymium magnets are rare earth magnets but there are other types of magnets in the rare earth family. Neodymium is however the most popular & cost effective. Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. The Rare earth family of magnets consist of basically 2 types of magnets. Neodymium magnets are notoriously resistant to demagnetization in and operating environment below 176 degrees F.. Neodymium is a rare earth element. Samarium cobalt magnets although not quite as strong, are a great substitute for neodymium when temperatures in the operating area reach more that 175 Degrees F. Neodymium, as sold on the market is actually an alloy consisting of the rare earth element neodymium, iron & Boron. The ratios of the mix are in part responsible for the strength differences of the magnets. You may see the element’s symbols Neodymium (Nd), Iron (Fe) & Boron (b). This rare earth magnet was created through a sintering process. Sintering is the process of compacting and forming a mass of material (this case a alloy) with heat or pressure but keeping it from getting to the liquefaction stage then pressing it into the final fishing magnet shape.
Warranty
This magnet includes a 10-year warranty for its magnetic strength, provided it is used under normal conditions. Usage in environments with elevated temperatures, significant vibration, or intense opposing magnetic fields will render this warranty null and void. It is also not suitable for use outdoors or in areas with high humidity or salt content, unless additional protective insulation measures are implemented.Product Videos

Fishing Magnet
This was just what I needed and it worked out great. I ran over areas a few times in different directions and pretty much pulled all of the metal from the creek. Nothing worth a bunch but a bunch of fun.

Great magnet...Great Price
The one piece housing and shorter eye bolt is good & the magnet seems to have plenty of power. Being able to get a live, helpful, personable, knowledgable person on the phone was great too! All in all a great purchase

First time magnet fishing. I fished around a small dock at a public fishing lake. Fount a like new multi tool ($65 new) and a good claw hammer.
