Ferrofluid 1 oz Safety Bottle With Gloves And Pipette
What is Ferrofluid?
Ferrofluid was developed by a NASA engineer as a way to keep fuel moving through the lines in the weightlessness of outer space
Ferrofluid is basically an oily based substance with very small particles of an iron magnetic substance with a little bit of a surfactant & there you have it. A substance that will disperse itself evenly in the fuel and when subject to a magnetic field allows that fuel to flow through the lines of a space ship.
This listing includes 1 OZ of ferrofluid that is rated at 400 Gauss.
What Does Ferrofluid Mean To You?
As a budding scientist of perhaps someone that just likes really cool stuff it is a great toy but be, careful it can be messy. Ferrofluid lets you see some of the effects of a magnetic field. You may have probably seen ferrofluid in TV commercials or Sci-Fi movies.
So Is This A ferrofluid Toy?
When no magnetic field is present, ferrofluid behaves and flows like a normal liquid. However, when a magnet or magnetic field is introduced, the ferrofluid is attracted to the field. Spikes then form along the magnetic field lines.
Please take care when handling ferrofluid. Besides ferrofluid being fun to play with, it also is capable of staining everything it comes into contact with. Please make sure to take care when using it.
Ferrofluid should never be used for applications involving loudspeakers. Ferrofluid can be hazardous or even fatal if swallowed or if it enters airways. Ferrofluid can cause skin irritation or serious eye irritation.
Where can you buy ferrofluid? That is right, CMS Magnetics Yes, CMS has this magnetic liquid for sale.

I think this is a good "starter" kit for exploring the behavior of ferrofluid. The quantity is sufficient to allow a number of experiments at a reasonable price. Everything is as described. My order arrived on time and in perfect condition. I also made a number of displays for myself and friends which have been well received.

This stuff is a mess, but it's a heck of a lot of fun!
My son and I experimented with a few different suspension solutions to create a display. We spent a couple messing around and had a great time. His friends were duly impressed with the fluid's reactions to magnetic fields and he donated the best one to his teacher. (5th grade)
It doesn't take a whole bottle of the fluid in a solution to create a cool display. Just don't get it on anything. It stains like you wouldn't believe
